Windows
One of the most striking aspects of Brussels architecture, particularly for us, was the prevalence of buildings with large windows. Residents would frequently lean out of these windows, seemingly engaging with the vibrant life of the streets below. This felt quite unexpected within a metropolitan setting, as we had primarily associated such interactions with the more intimate atmosphere of villages in Hungary. In many ways, this characteristic exemplifies a broader tendency for Brussels to evoke the feeling of a large, interconnected village, which is something we find particularly appealing and enjoyable.
